Letter from CCYP Co-Chair - Benjamin Fox

  • Share:
As the Co-Chair of the Claremont Chamber Young Professionals, more commonly known as CCYP, I would like to invite my fellow Claremont Chamber members to “Bowling For A Cause” on Thursday, July 20 at 5:30 p.m. This annual fundraiser presented by CCYP provides an opportunity for Chamber members and the community to give back. The event will be held at Chaparral Lanes in San Dimas.

For three years now, I have been the Business Development Specialist for ISN Global Enterprises, a local IT company. While working with ISN I am granted an amazing opportunity to be involved with CCYP. Employees of Claremont Chamber businesses, ages of 18 and 40, also have the opportunity to be part of CCYP and I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity. When I first got involved with CCYP, I began to understand how truly diverse and incredibly talented Claremont’s young professionals truly are. No matter what the industry or background, I constantly found myself in awe of these individuals. Their intelligence, spirited ambition and dedication to building successful and prominent careers within this city is nothing short of inspiring. As my time continued with the CCYP members I began to notice an opportunity to bring my own skills to the table to help forward our collective goals.

To my delight, my co-chair, Joey Mederios of Nuno’s Bistro and Bar and Euro Café, was a big supporter of a new direction for CCYP. The addition of Rebecca Ustrell and Chelsea Pearson to our CCYP Acting Committee, and continued support of the Claremont Chamber Board, has given us everything we need to set voyage on this new direction and reach our destination. Over the course of this year, the Claremont Chamber Young Professionals aim to make our presence more known in the community. As we stand currently, we have a lot of amazing events we want to share with Claremont Chamber members. Our first call to action is the Claremont Chamber Young Professionals annual “Bowling for a Cause” event. This annual event is always a big success and it is my intent to grow that success year after year. It will take a collaborative effort from the Chamber members to make that goal happen, and I believe we will accomplish this task. This year’s event supports the amazing Children’s Foundation of America.

The Children’s Foundation of America supports high-quality programs for children through solicitation of funds, engagement of volunteers and partnerships within the community.  The Foundation currently provides support to programs that address the health, safety, well-being and education of foster children, initiatives that advocate for children’s issues and community-based organizations that assist children in need. The Foundation identifies and accesses resources so that children in need or who have been the victims of trauma, abuse, neglect or abandonment may lead healthy and productive lives.

It was Abraham Lincoln who said, “Whatever you are, be a good one.” As the co-chair for CCYP, I can tell you that our members are professionally growing every day. It is with your continued guidance and support that makes us certain to be great.
