November Letter from our Chair

As I compose this November Newsletter, Village Venture has yet to happen, but I am certain it was a success! They always are and look very easy but they take an enormous amount of time, planning and precise execution to achieve that impression. Thanks to Maureen, Marlene, Jose and Robin for this year’s production. Volunteering was way down this year, (yeah, like my Newsletter nagging made any difference), but volunteering appears down in numbers for many events with as many reasons. Such is life!

We are now all looking toward the end of the year and when November starts, it seems to be a rapid slide. Everyone seems to have a fundraiser going on, so please try to participate in as many as you are able. As well, remember to try to shop local when at all possible, keeping some precious tax dollars inside the city. For every $100 spent, $68 remains in Claremont. Local businesses and the people they employ, obviously directly benefit.

I’ll finish now by wishing safe travels for Thanksgiving if you are going over the river and through the wood….but most of all enjoy this time of year and don’t try to make it go too fast. Every day counts in life!
