SoCalGas
Monday, February 27, 2017
LOS ANGELES, February 16, 2017 — Southern California Gas Company (SoCalGas) today announced that it will upgrade or replace 50 to 60 pipeline valves in 2017 to further enhance the safety of its system. The upgraded valves will feature the latest technology that allow operators to control the valves from a remote location, or that automatically shut off the valve if a drop-in pressure is detected. The new valves will allow gas control operators to respond more quickly if gas flow needs to be shut off in an emergency. The effort is part of SoCalGas’ Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP), a multi-billion-dollar program that tests and updates the natural gas pipeline infrastructure in Southern California. I’ll just start this newsletter by saying ‘Congratulations!’ For what now, to whom? Well, to all of us at the Chamber for creating a new event, the Best BET Bash, and pulling it off successfully! It is never easy to first come up with an idea for an event, considering all the ‘who-what-where-when’ questions that must be satisfied and then the actual stitching it all together. We had many fine individuals help in the stitching and vendors donating so that everyone who attended enjoyed the evening. We presented a giant check to the school district for $15,063.81 and will soon add another tidy sum towards next year’s grants. Read more
