They were railroad men\, teachers\, nurses\, craftspeople\, but none of them were musicians. In my early teens\, my cousin John\, who was six years older\, gave me access to his album collection which was mostly early-70's singer/songwriter folk rock: James Taylor\, Neil Young\, Jim Croce\, and similar stuff. John became a pretty accomplished acoustic guitar player\, and that inspired me\, so that's always been my sweet-spot simple vocals and guitar."\n\n"Strumming Stories" is Ed's first published album\, and in keeping with his do-it-yourself roots\, he not only wrote the songs and recorded\, mixed\, and mastered the album\, he also built the guitar and other instruments he used on nearly every tune.\n\n"This collection of songs was mostly composed during the Covid pandemic from 2020-2022\, and has an introspective feel due to the relative isolation of that time. I wanted to use that isolation as a gift\, rather than a burden\, to create. Strumming Stories is the result.
