FOOTHILL AIDS PROJECT RECEIVES MAJOR GRANT FROM MACY’S

The grant will go toward providing mental health counseling to clients.

Claremont, Calif.: Macy’s has awarded a grant of $7,500 to Foothill AIDS Project (FAP), which provides services for people living with HIV and AIDS.

Maritza Tona, the executive director of FAP, said, "We're so grateful for the continued support of Macy's for our mission of caring for people in the Inland Empire living with HIV and AIDS. Foothill AIDS Project has spent 30 years and our client base continues to grow. Thanks to this grant from Macy's, we can meet the challenges posed by HIV in our area."

Under the terms of the grant, the $7,500 will help FAP provide outpatient mental health treatment to low-income people living with HIV and AIDS in southern California.

Mental health and substance and abuse counseling is one of FAP’s major departments. The agency’s numerous counselors provide one-on-one counseling, support groups, and other services to help people living with HIV and AIDS to overcome depression, addiction, and other mental health challenges.

About Foothill AIDS Project: FAP offers a full spectrum of programs and services that empower clients in three counties to manage their own long-term health goals. Integrated treatment and chronic care management, paired with stable housing planning and outreach, provide many tools for people living with HIV/AIDS to live longer, healthier, and more stable lives.
