CASA COLINA OFFERS FREE COMMUNITY SEMINAR ON
LOW VISION REHABILITAION
In its continued efforts to educate the community about visual impairments and the benefits of low vision rehabilitation, Casa Colina is pleased to host a free community seminar on Wednesday, February 22.
Guest speakers include Kierstyn Napier-Dovorany, OD, FAAO, Assistant Professor, College of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences, who also specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with low vision at Casa Colina; and Debra Ouellette, MS, OTR/L, a Casa Colina occupational therapist with special training in low vision rehabilitation.
Topics of discussion include what is visual impairment and how it is caused; what is low vision rehabilitation and you or a loved one may benefit; ways to improve function in the home and community with low vision; how to utilize other senses to assist with function and improve quality of live; assistive devises to help compensate for low vision; and a question and answer session.
Refreshments will be served and seating is limited.
