Pancakes With A Cop Event
Claremont, CA – On Saturday, June 2, 2018, the Claremont Police Department will be holding a “Coffee with a Cop” event. “Coffee with a Cop” events have been hosted in all 50 states and is one of the most successful community-oriented policing programs across the country. The program has also expanded outside the United States to Canada, Europe, Australia, and Africa.
The event scheduled for June 2, 2018, will have a slight twist as the Police Department will be hosting a pancake breakfast along with coffee. The breakfast will consist of pancakes hot off the griddle made by police department personnel, sausage, fresh fruit, juice, and of course, coffee. There will also be police vehicles on display and games for the kids.
The event will be held at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd. Volunteering members of the police department will be present to serve you. There will also be members of the police department present to answer questions or clarify facts about Measure “SC” or “Safe Claremont”, which is a General Obligation bond to finance the construction of a new Police facility.
Part of the Claremont Police Department’s Strategic Vision is Community Outreach and “Coffee with a Cop” is one way for police officers to build relationships with the community members, one cup of coffee at a time. The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public occur during emergencies or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective time for relationship building and some community members may feel officers are unapproachable on the street.
“Coffee with a Cop” provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the Claremont Police Department through relaxed, one-on-one interactions. There is no agenda, no guest speaker and no power point presentation: just coffee and conversation.
Please join us on Saturday, June 2nd from 8:00 AM-11:00 AM at Memorial Park, 840 N. Indian Hill Blvd.
