Description
14TH ANNUAL BOWLING EVENT HELPS FIGHT AIDS IN INLAND EMPIRE
For the 14th year, Foothill AIDS Project (FAP) will gather local residents, donors, film and television actors, musicians, and professional sports figures to help fight AIDS in southern California.
The Balls O’ Fire Celebrity Bowling Tournament, which will benefit the direct client support programs of FAP, will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at Brunswick Deer Creek Lanes in Rancho Cucamonga. Actress and 2016 Primetime Emmy nominee Patrika Darbo (Days of Our Lives, Mr. & Mrs. Smith) and actor CJ Valleroy (Unbroken) will co-host the event. Celebrity guests will include over 35 film and television actors, musicians, entertainers and retired sports stars. A full list of the celebrities scheduled to appear will be available one week before the event.
Sponsored by AIDS Healthcare Foundation and produced by famed Hollywood manager and talent scout David Mirisch, the Balls O’ Fire Celebrity Bowling Tournament has attracted over 200 bowlers and spectators in past years, and raised over $30,000 in tax-deductible donations. All donations go to serve the over 1,000 FAP clients and their families in southern California.
Individual bowlers can register with a $25 donation and then must raise an additional $100 before the event to participate, and can bring one (1) additional guest. Bowling teams of four (4) can register with a $100 donation, and then must raise an additional $400 before the event, and each team can bring an additional six (6) guests.
The event also includes door and raffle prizes, plus a Silent Auction for items including travel items, craft brewery tours, gourmet dinners, financial planning sessions, and more!
Maritza Tona, Executive Director of FAP, said, “The Balls O' Fire tournament is one of the most important sources of revenue for FAP's fiscal year, and the funds from the event will go to support numerous needed services for our clients. Everyone who comes helps us meet the needs of our neighbors, and the tax-deductible donations are greatly appreciated!”
Foothill AIDS Project delivers compassion, access to care, housing assistance, food, recovery support, counseling, support groups, and other services to over 1,000 people living with HIV and AIDS in the Inland Empire. Foothill AIDS Project maintains five full-service offices in the cities of Pasadena, Claremont, San Bernardino, Riverside and Hesperia. Learn more at Foothill AIDS Project’s website: www.fapinfo.org.
