Description
Few people can speak to the balance of academics and athletics the way that John Urschel can. A former All Big Ten Conference offensive lineman at Penn State and offensive lineman for the Baltimore Ravens, Urschel is arguably the most well-rounded player in NFL history.
Drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2014, Urschel was accepted to the doctoral program in mathematics at MIT during his second season with the team. He retired in 2017 to focus on his graduate studies.
Named one of Forbes magazine’s “30 Under 30” Outstanding Young Scientists, Urschel has 11 peer-reviewed publications in mathematics.
