Seniors, venture into the secret world of John Frame for no admission fee on Friday, Feb. 4th

 

The Claremont Museum of Art exhibition John Frame: Mephistopheles and The Swan Girl has been extended through April 24. Frame's solo exhibition at the Huntington in 2011 drew over 30,000 visitors and 80,000 attended the same exhibition in Portland in 2012. For the first time in a decade, the work of this reclusive artist is on public view. Featuring new work from a recent opera production of Faust, this is a show not to be missed!

The exhibition presents work by widely-known artist John Frame based on his production designs for the 2018 staging of Gounod's Faust by the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Portland Opera. It also includes Frame's work on the Academy Award winning short film, The Swan Girl, 2016. Both projects relate to the Faust story and have continued to exert a strong influence on Frame's work. 

The museum is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, noon to 4PM, with evening hours from 6-9PM on Feb. 5, March 5, and April 2nd for Art Walk.
