Description
Join Claremont Heritage for a magical Thursday evening holiday celebration at the historic Padua Hills Theatre, where the rich cultural traditions of Mexico and Old California come together in the spirit of the season.
This special evening will also honor the legacy of the Mexican Players, whose performances at the Padua Hills Theatre entertained and inspired millions of visitors, including generations of schoolchildren from across the Southland, over more than four decades. Through music, dance, and storytelling, the Mexican Players introduced audiences to the rich cultural heritage of Mexico and helped establish the theatre as one of Southern California's most beloved cultural landmarks.
Stroll through a colorful Mercado Navideño, featuring local artisans, handcrafted gifts, and holiday treasures, while enjoying lively performances by the Mini Mariachis, whose youthful energy and traditional music will fill the courtyard with the sounds of a Mexican Christmas. Enjoy seasonal foods, festive refreshments, and the warmth and charm of one of Claremont's most treasured historic settings.
A highlight of the evening will be a special performance by Cielo Rojo Folklórico, bringing the vibrant regional dances of Mexico to life through colorful costumes, spirited music, and storytelling through movement.
Throughout the evening, guests will experience the spirit of Las Posadas—a cherished tradition celebrating hospitality, togetherness, and the joy of welcoming others. A festive procession will lead guests from the theatre into the courtyard for a traditional holiday piñata celebration for children, followed by more music, holiday shopping, and seasonal festivities.
