Inland Valley Repertory Theatre Celebrates 35 Years with Star-Studded Gala Supporting Arts for Youth
Claremont, CA — May 21, 2025 — Inland Valley Repertory Theatre (IVRT) recently hosted its highly anticipated 35th Anniversary Fundraiser Gala, a night of celebration, community and creativity. The event was held at the City of Claremont’s stunning Padua Hills Theater. IVRT’s 35 years of artistic excellence and service to the Inland Valley through performances, educational outreach, and youth arts programming were celebrated.
Guests were treated to a fun-filled evening featuring a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction, and a very successful paddle raise. Veteran company member Bobby Collins served as emcee and auctioneer and also performed. Other entertainment included standout performances by IVRT company members and alumni, including child performers from the 1990s through 2010s. The evening also featured music by local favorite band Both Sides Now, creating a vibrant and nostalgic atmosphere.
“We are deeply grateful to our community of supporters,” said IVRT Artistic Director Frank Minano. “This gala was not just a fundraiser—it was a celebration of the powerful role theatre plays in enriching lives, building community and giving voice to important stories. Every ticket purchased and every dollar raised helps us continue to make high-quality theatre accessible across the Inland Valley.”
The evening was made even more meaningful by the presence and support of elected officials and community leaders. LA County Supervisor Kathryn Barger generously provided shuttle transportation for guests and recognized IVRT’s longstanding impact with special commendations. Honorees for their exceptional service and contributions to IVRT over the decades included DawnEllen Ferry, Gloria Doty, Gloria Slosberg, and Shaun Fesler. In addition, longtime Claremont resident Bridget Healy was honored with the title of President Emeritus. Claremont Mayor Pro Tem, Jennifer Stark, represented the City Council and presented IVRT with a certificate.
The event was chaired by IVRT Board Member Darcy Weis, and all proceeds from the evening will directly benefit IVRT’s mission-driven initiatives, including professional theatre productions, artist development, and educational programs for youth. With the generous donations of supporters, the event netted $45,000.
The celebration continues with IVRT’s upcoming summer musical, Disney’s Newsies, running July 19–August 3, 2025, at the Morgan Auditorium on the University of La Verne campus. Additionally, this summer IVRT will hold its Camp IVRT in Claremont, in partnership with the Claremont School of Music. Young artists will be provided exciting opportunities for creative exploration and performance.
