Ophelia’s Jump Announces Three New Members to Its Board of Directors
Ophelia’s Jump Productions (OJP) CEO, Randy Lopez, announced that three new members have been appointed to the theatre non-profit’s Board of Directors. Joining the Board are Doran Barnes, Chief Executive Officer of Foothill Transit; Rich Smith, General Manager of Mazda of Claremont; and Peter Weinberger, Chief Executive Officer of the Claremont Courier.
“We are honored that these business leaders have joined OJP at a pivotal time in our organization as we continue to bring stories and events that entertain, engage and create conversations for audiences locally and throughout Southern California, . As we begin our new season, they, along with our current board members, continue to allow us to grow our organization and support our community,” said Randy Lopez.
NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Doran Barnes, CEO of Foothill Transit, leads a 38-line bus system and oversees the operations of 360 buses that serve thousands of commuters every day. He serves on the Board of Directors for Access Services and has held leadership roles within the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), including Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary-Treasurer. Additionally, Doran is part of the Executive Committee of the California Transit Association.Planning Commission for the City of San Dimas, the San Dimas Chamber of Commerce board, and the East Valley Community Health Center board. He’s also a Past President of the West Covina Rotary Club and a member of the Tennant Foundation Board of Directors.
Rich Smith, General Manager of Claremont Mazda, has held leadership roles with Van Tulle, AutoNation, Larry H. Miller, Universal Auto Group, and Lawley Automotive. With over two decades of hands-on experience in the automotive dealership industry, Rich has built a reputation as a results-driven leader in multi-location management.
Peter Weinberger, CEO of Claremont Courier, is the owner and publisher of the successful community 501(c)(3) nonprofit newspaper. The Courier has been covering local news in Claremont, California, for over 100 years, focusing on a variety of themes including education, transportation, and sports, as well as topics like football and academia. Peter's work has been featured in TimesDaily and Claremont Courier. Recently, he published a hardcover collection of photography from the Courier. In 2018, the Courier was named the top community newspaper in California by the California News Publishers Association.
